Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data samueldan.com collects, why it collects it and what you can do about it. It only describes what this website actually does.
Who is responsible for your data
Samuel Gil Ibáñez (Samuel Dan), music producer and mixing and mastering engineer, Spain.
Email: hello@samueldan.com
What I collect and why
Contact form
When you write to me, I receive your first and last name, your email address and your message. I use them to answer you and, if we decide to work together, to handle your project. The legal basis is taking the steps you ask for before a possible contract, and the contract itself if we work together (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Free mastering sample
If you ask for a free mastering sample, I receive your first name and your email address. I use them to contact you about the sample. The legal basis is the same.
Messages from both forms arrive in my email inbox, and a copy is kept in the administration area of the website so that no request gets lost.
To stop spam, the forms include an invisible check and a limit on how many messages can be sent from the same connection in a few minutes. For that limit, a scrambled version of your IP address is kept on the server for 10 minutes.
Advertising measurement (Meta Pixel)
This website uses the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API, provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., to measure the results of my ads on Instagram and Facebook and to show my ads to people who have visited the site. When you visit, Meta can receive information such as the pages you view, actions such as sending a form, your IP address, details about your browser and device, and identifiers stored in cookies. Meta may link this information to your Meta account if you have one.
I rely on my legitimate interest in measuring and improving my advertising. You can object at any time by emailing me, by changing your ad preferences in your Meta account (Accounts Center, Ad preferences), by blocking third-party cookies in your browser or by using a content blocker. More information in the Meta Privacy Policy.
Visit statistics (Google Analytics)
This website uses Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Ltd., to count visits and see how the site is used: which pages people view, how long they stay and what kind of device they use. For this, Google receives your IP address and details about your browser and device, and stores cookies in your browser. I only see overall statistics, not who you are.
I rely on my legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used. You can object at any time by emailing me, by blocking cookies in your browser or by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on. More information in the Google Privacy Policy.
Cookies and similar technologies
- Meta cookies (for example
_fbp): advertising measurement, as described above. - Google Analytics cookies (
_gaand_ga_followed by an identifier): visit statistics, as described above. - PixelYourSite cookies: the WordPress plugin that installs the Meta Pixel stores a few cookies about how you arrived at the site (for example the traffic source and the first page you visited) to send them to Meta with your visit.
- Your choices on this site: whether you closed the cookie notice and the free sample pop-up, so they don't appear again. This is kept in your browser's local storage and is not sent to anyone.
You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings.
Who else receives your data
- Hostinger (Hostinger International Ltd.) hosts the website and the copies of the form messages.
- Google delivers the form messages to my inbox (Gmail) and provides the visit statistics (Google Analytics).
- Meta, for the advertising measurement described above.
Google and Meta may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. I don't sell your data or share it for any other purpose.
How long I keep it
I keep form messages for as long as I need them to answer you and to handle any work that follows, and after that for the time the law requires. Meta keeps the data it receives according to its own policy.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to object to or restrict its use, and to receive a copy to take elsewhere. Just email hello@samueldan.com. If you think I haven't handled your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
Links to other websites
This site links to SoundBetter, Google, Instagram, Facebook and to the shops where you can check the equipment I use. Those websites have their own privacy policies.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
